Asia and Oceania Launch at the 20th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2025
Manila, Philippines
Nov 27, 2025
Today at APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium and Conference in Manila, NATURA is celebrating the launch of two new assessments focused on Asia and Oceania from the NATURA Global Roadmap for Urban Nature-based Solutions.
These regional assessments highlight why place matters: cities and towns across each region face very different urban forms, governance contexts, and climate risks. The Roadmaps help clarify what those differences mean for real-world NbS policy, planning, and governance.
🌏 Asia
Now home to over 54% of the world’s population, Asian cities sit at the frontline of climate, environmental, and social challenges. The Asia Roadmap shows how cities across South, Southeast, Central, and East Asia are turning to nature as infrastructure—and what’s needed in governance, finance, and research to scale impact.
🌏 Oceania
Across temperate to tropical coasts, cities and towns in Oceania face growing heat and water stress. The Oceania Roadmap highlights how governments and communities are applying NbS and traditional practices across very different capacity and governance contexts—from major metros to small island settlements.
🙏 Huge thanks to the incredible regional author teams and contributors who made these Roadmaps possible — months of collaboration, synthesis, and care went into these assessments.
📖 Look out for the full regional reports in the coming weeks.
